Lanza joined Correctional Systems, Inc. as Director of Law Enforcement Liaison upon retirement from a very successful 27 year law enforcement career. He served in the ranks of Patrol Officer, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and Chief of Police. Chief Lanza headed a police department of 100 full-time employees and managed an annual budget in excess of $8 million dollars. During Chief Lanza's 8 years as Police Chief, he brought many innovative programs to Baldwin Park, including Community-Oriented Policing in which he became a nationally recognized expert. Director of Law Enforcement Liaison Carmine's duties at CSI include networking with local, county, state and federal public safety organizations and working with these organizations and CSI staff to develop and implement new project proposals. Professional Experience 1989 - 1997 - Chief of Police - As Police Chief of the Baldwin Park, California Police Department, Carmine commanded a police force of 100 officers serving a community of 75,000 residents. As a career police officer, Carmine accumulated a wealth of experience and developed a high level of expertise in all fields of police work. He is a nationally recognized expert in Community-Oriented Policing (COP) and a number of COP programs he instituted in Baldwin Park have won national recognition and are in place in other police departments across the nation. Carmine has served as President of his Police Chief organization and is highly regarded in law enforcement circles. 1989 - 1990 - Interim City Manager - Carmine served as Chief Executive Officer of Baldwin Park, California. In that capacity, he oversaw the everyday operations of City Hall, five City Departments, and a City work force of 300 employees. He reported directly to the Mayor and City Council. 1971 - 1989 Police Officer - Carmine served in all ranks while steadily promoting up to Chief of Police. During this period of time, he served on numerous committees and commissions, and assisted the Training Unit of California Peace Officers' Association (CPOA) with training command officers from a number of Southern California police departments in successfully competing in Assessment Center promotional processes.
